What Does a Children's Orthodontist Do?
A children's orthodontist specializes in evaluating and treating problems with tooth alignment and the way the upper and lower teeth fit together, as a child's jaw and teeth are growing and developing.
During your visit, the orthodontist will assess your child's smile, discuss your concerns, and determine which treatment options may be appropriate. The goal is a treatment plan based on your child's individual smile rather than a standard approach.
Orthodontic treatment can address:
Tooth crowding
Uneven spacing
Crooked teeth
Overbites
Underbites
Crossbites
Open bites
Bite alignment
Tooth positioning
Overall smile alignment
The goal is to create a treatment plan based on your individual smile rather than a standard approach.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
We focus on kids, tweens, teens, and young adults ages 8 to 25. If you're not sure whether your child is ready for an evaluation, we're happy to take a look and tell you what to expect.
-
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic check-up by age 7, but many children begin treatment between ages 8 and 14. An early visit lets us monitor growth and spot concerns like crowding or bite problems, and it doesn't always mean treatment starts right away. Your consultation with us is complimentary.
-
Yes, many can. Invisalign® clear aligners are a discreet, removable option for eligible kids and teens, and they fit well with school, sports, and music. Whether aligners are right for your child depends on their bite, their teeth, and how reliably they can wear them, so Dr. Sean will review the options at your consultation.
